I have a setup of my desktop in my home where I can’t get to work, and finally I was wondering if there is any difference in using a proxy server vs a DNS redirect in order to make it work.
My setup is this:
1) My computer is connected to a router through wifi.
2) There is an ADSL modem connected through ethernet to the router.
3) The router has a DNS server set up with just a fixed IP, and it is set to forward all requests with the destination * to the modem’s public IP address.
4) The router and the ADSL modem have been set up through a static IP setting.
5) I access all the internet by using my laptop, which is connected to the router via ethernet cable.
6) I have opened all the ports on my router.
