An Island Adventure game being developed by a couple of gaming news sites that caught wind of a Kickstarter is heading to Kickstarter for a $27,000 USD project to play the game. If it gets funded, the game will focus on the story of an alien invasion, much like the game Die: Year Zero. However, as you can see below, the video is all in Spanish.

:: One of my favorite projects on Kickstarter, Island Invasion is much more of a on-rails Cuphead than Dead By Daylight, with the creative director focusing more on combat than cover-based systems, with a friendly AI-controlled player which sees through the solid-glass slides that make up the “island”. After some tweaks were made to each character, which made Ryo the most accurate barreling tank, the game is quite finely tuned, creating a great balance of action-taction and intel-action. If you are more used to XBL/PSN/Steam or SimCity, perhaps Desert Bus: Reloaded is more your style.
The game was funded on May 2nd, reaching $4,085 USD. One of my favorite rewards was that of 15 of the original 16 levels, the last level being unlocked only at $50K. Bidders could mix it up with tokens to unlock some of the levels, which proved to boost funds per $. There’s also the possibility that the AI will be improved over time, which would surely add to the experience, knowing that the original game only had machine players. I also enjoyed the potential in having an AI in there, even if it was just to provide feedback on areas and obstacles that weren’t as clear to them as the player. There was even a customer service mobile game which asked you questions in order to see if you had cheated and tried to work yourself through the level.
